What Are Your Ideas for Halloween Costumes This Year?

Pumpkins

We have friends who hold an almost annual adult costume party. It is a pretty clever bunch of folks, so the pressure is always on to be creative.  Aside from the obvious political fodder, I would love to get some of your ideas.

Okay, I will get the obvious out of the way...Sarah Palin, Barack O'Bama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton and John McCain.I am sure Laura and George Bush will still be a popular choice. Bill Clinton is always an easy one

But who/what else are you thinking this year? My husband and I need to come up with a fun idea.

In the past we have gone as Brittany and Kevin (Spears and Federline), Grey Water and Black Water (following an RV trip that a number of the party attendees also went on--totally an inside joke!),and Dracula and his victim.

The couples costumes are always fun, but we are not stuck in that rut.

What are some of your better costume ideas...or those of your friends?

Well - depending on how 'out there' you want to be....my partner went as a Milk Maid one year....

I'm going to come back here to see all the ideas. I'm tired of my old costume(1st place in many contests)made from Hefty Steel Sacks and duct tape. I built it on a maniquin dress form to fit. A fully designed victorian dress, hat and purse. It's like wearing an elegant sauna suit. I call it my BVH Bag Lady outfit. It gets thrown back in the trunk each year. It's way over 10 years old.

Go as a happy married couple that could be custom for many.

I like the last costume.  It is cheap and easy to make.  I wouldn't spend a lot of money.  I never do for my children.  It's all about the fun.

How about Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf?  I had a Red costume a few years ago... and my purse was this adorable stuffed wolf.  People made comments on how I obviously tamed the wolf.

I have some friends that are going to go as peter pan and tinkerbell. There is also the chicken and the egg, popeye and olive oil, and superman and lois lane.... Just a few more ideas for you. Good luck!

These are great ideas...keep 'em coming!  Thanks for the picture, Lizette! I think the Milk Maid is a little too much for me, Shaun. Debi and Kim, I like your ideas and I agree with you, Pat, it is not about spending a lot--just about being creative. Lynn911...that would be funny, and certainly easy. Ilike the monopoly guy idea, Frank & Jodi, as well as the hobo (sometimes simple is best).

Thanks for sharing!
