If you have been worried because you could not get your loan done in time to close on June 30th, Congress has given you a reprieve.
Congress has approved the extension of the closing deadline for claiming the federal homebuyer tax credit. This will allow homeowners who were under contract by April 30th, 2010 but may not have the ability to close before the previous deadline of June 30th to be eligible for the $8,000 tax credit as long as they are closed by September 30th, 2010. This is fantastic for our buyers and great news for those struggling to close on their new homes.
