Today at 5:00pm is the last day that the winner of a $250,000 Virginia Lottery can claim their winnings! Are you holding the lucky ticket? By State law, the winner has 180 days to come forward.
The prizewinning Ticket was purchased on August 21, 2009, in the Mega Millions drawing at Giant Food, located at 61 Catoctin Circle NE in Leesburg.
If you have a ticket lying around that you purchased late in the summer, run and grab it. The numbers that you need to claim the prize are: 9-38-44-48-49 and the Mega Ball was 13.
Unclaimed prize money goes to the Virginia Literary Fund which is used for education in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
For more information on claiming the prize, or on the Virginia Lottery, go to their website and check out the page announcing this local Mega Millions winner.

Didn't play, but if you got it I'll meet you in Vegas.
I wonder if someone lost their ticket. What a shame. My wife and I use to play the "what if we won" game. How many of you out there have done the same thing.
Holly, now where did I put that ticket...Must have left it in my pants and now it's been washed!
Man that will be a bummer...all that money going to the state, I guess!
Yikes. What a waste that would be. Thanks Victoria.
Hmmm. Now where did I leave that winning ticket? I better start looking before time runs out!!!
Holly, I hope the winner steps up with the winning ticket. However, if they don't I'm glad to hear the money is going to benefit a good cause. Unfortunately, it wasn't me. I haven't benn to Leesburg in a while.
All that money sitting unclaimed. That is something I would probably do. I always buy a ticket when I visit Florida and then forget about it. Maybe they will donate it to the snow removal fund if the owner does not come forward.
