It is time to sign up for 2013 Summer Day Camps in Reston, Virginia

It is time to sign up for 2013 Summer Day Camps in Reston, Virginia.

If you have young children, summer can be a hard time to keep them busy. When my kids were little, I found that mixing some structured time in with plenty of downtime was a great formula for happy days.

The Reston Association has begun (January 28, 2013) registration for it's popular Day Camps. They offer a variety of campdifferent camps and also offer some extended care options for working parents. You can find out more information at the Reston Associations RA Camps page. This is always a popular camp option, so be sure to register early.

Another great place to send your child to Day Camp is the Greater Reston Arts Center, or GRACE, as it is locally known.  Their art camps have begun registering, too. You can find out more information about these camps at the GRACE 2013 Summer Art Camp page.

The Reston Community Center also offers Day Camps. Their camp registration begins on February 1. You can register at the RCC Main Page.

The YMCA, located in Reston, has a wide variety of camp options for kids of all ages.  To explore the options available at the Reston YMCA, go to the YMCA Camp Page.

When my kids were very little, they really enjoyed 'farm camp' at Frying Pan Park in Herndon, VA. The camps at Frying Pan Park are sponsored through Fairfax County. In addition to summer day camps, they offer Spring Break options, and on-going activities.  For more information about camps and activities at Frying Pan Park, to to the Fairfax County/Frying Pan Park page.

There are a lot of great Day Camp programs in, and around, Reston.  If you want to ensure a spot for your tot this summer, regsistration has either started or will take place shortly.  Get organized now and everyone will have a great summer!
