I have been really busy lately. My days are varied and I have been working with buyers, sellers and renters (one of my sellers).
Working with different buyers in a competitive market, it is not uncommon to have multiple client showings in one day. This week, was one of those days.
It was so funny, two times, two different clients, I had people turn to me and say, 'I feel like we are on House Hunters!'
It is isn't that weird for them to say that. After all, my job is to make sure they understand the pros and cons of each property that they see. When they are very enthusiastic about a property (and I feel like cheering, "Woohoo, maybe we are done), it is still my job to point out the busy street out back or the fact that it only has one bathroom. My job, after all, is to make sure they buy a house that not only suits their needs now, but will continue to work for them over time--and that they will be able to sell when the time comes.
Shows like House Hunter make it look so easy. It is not, as anyone who has searched for a new home can tell you. What these shows do a good job of, however, is discussing the trade-offs that come with selecting one house over another.
It is sometimes fun to feel like we are participants in a television show, but when it comes to advising you on selecting your home, you can believe I take the responisibility very seriously!
