Tips for Choosing Your Listing Broker

Selling your home is stressful.

When you decide to put your home on the market, it is important that you think about your strategy. The lucky among us know a friend-of-a-friend who has been waiting to buy in the neighborhood at the price that we want to sell.  For most of us, however, selling your home means listing it with a Real Estate Broker.

Interviewing Brokers and Agents is an important part of the process of hiring a broker. You need to evaluate Sold Housetheir marketing strategy, their market knowledge and, finally, you need to trust them implicitly. Why is this trust so important? Unless your sale goes absolutely smoothly (sign up, full price contract on day 1, no home inspection or finance issues), you will need to work with the Broker to adjust strategy and negotiate the best deal.  If you don't trust that they are looking out for your best interests, these natural steps in the process will be unnecessarily complex and stressful.

I wish that I got every single listing that I interview for, but I do not (although the % is very good). Sometimes it is because they just 'click' with someone else.  I cannot do anything about this.

What I can control is my marketing plan and my market knowledge. As a full-time Realtor/Broker, it is my job--and my passion--to understand the local market and be able to position your home within this market to sell quickly and for the most money. In the D.C. Market, one of the most highly educated in the country, the marketing plan needs to include an extensive and comprehensive Internet strategy, while not ignoring the proven strategies that we know work to sell a house.

Take the selection of your Real Estate Broker very seriously. Their market savvy and hard work will help you achieve your personal goals. Select a knowledgeable and hardworking Broker who can provide you with strong market intelligence and solid advice to prepare and present your home on the market.

If I can help you as you begin the planning to sell your Northern Virginia home, I would welcome the opportunity.
